When I first heard of Bitcoin, of cryptocurrency in general, I
didn’t get it. I was intrigued, but also confused. That was in
2011, when I could have spent $500 for 250 bitcoins and today could
have sold it for $1,000,000.
In a recent week, in September 2017, the week bitcoin dropped
from $4600 to $3500, a friend made more money with cryptocurrency
in that week than he ever had before.
When I first heard about it, I just figured if people wanted
to agree that something had value, then, well, if enough people
agreed, then it did.
I didn’t get it.
The idea that money can be created from code on a computer is
hard enough to believe.
But then add to that fiends who claimed this technology was
more than just about money.
This layer called the blockchain will change the world, it
could be more distruptive to our lives than the

And still … confusing.
I need to be stepped through this.
Put it in layman’s terms, but don’t sacrifice the

- Why does it matter? Does it matter?
- And what steps do I take if I want to get in?

There’s a lot of hype around cryptocurrency, and the truth is
we really don’t know right now what this will become or how its
impact it will look.
