Coloring Crypto

Illuminating the Blockchain with host Gabe Colors

Creative arts, technology, design and humanity. Color on the blockchain

Sep 29, 2017

When I first heard of Bitcoin, of cryptocurrency in general, I didn’t get it. I was intrigued, but also confused. That was in 2011, when I could have spent $500 for 250 bitcoins and today could have sold it for $1,000,000.
In a recent week, in September 2017, the week bitcoin dropped from $4600 to $3500, a friend made more money with cryptocurrency in that week than he ever had before.
When I first heard about it, I just figured if people wanted to agree that something had value, then, well, if enough people agreed, then it did.
I didn’t get it.
The idea that money can be created from code on a computer is hard enough to believe.
But then add to that fiends who claimed this technology was more than just about money.
This layer called the blockchain will change the world, it could be more distruptive to our lives than the internet.
It's about a lot more than just money.
And still … confusing.
I need to be stepped through this.
Put it in layman’s terms, but don’t sacrifice the details.
  • Where did it come from? What does it mean?
  • Why does it matter? Does it matter?
  • And what steps do I take if I want to get in?
I have so many questions.
To figure anything out this day and age, what else do you do?
Start a podcast.
Welcome to Coloring Crypto.
The podcast that sheds light into the corners of the cryptocurrency and blockchain world. With light comes color. With color so you can see and understand better.
Join me, your host Gabe Colors as we take a deep dive into the risks, opportunities and mysteries of this technology.
Since around the time bitcoin launched I’ve explored color and perception.
I know color, yet to this day, I’m still in awe of how color reveals that things are rarely what they appear to be.
I see our perceptions and beliefs as interdependent to what’s around us, and at the same time completely unique. Call it a color commentary on cryptocurrency, coloring in the nuances with vivid pictures of the risks and opportunities.
In each episode I’ll host a crypto enthusiast. Could be an expert mathemitician. Could be a rich investor, a scientist, a prognosticator, or even an artist.
There’s a lot of hype around cryptocurrency, and the truth is we really don’t know right now what this will become or how its impact it will look.
I’m curious.
Let’s add a little color to crypto and enlighten this picture.
The Coloring Crypto podcast launches October 1, 2017.
The Coloring Crypto podcast is intended to explain, explore and give tips. God forbid do not take any investment advice from this podcast. I’m an artist! Is that enough of a disclaimer? Anything you hear on Coloring Crypto are just opinions, we don’t know the future.
